One exciting straw roof project was last year in November. It is a wellknown historical place close to the Gothenburg, Äskhult. It is the oldest village in the north Europa, which includes four family householdsin a one unit. And it is still together. Place has high priority to keep everything original. That why we have put the straw roof 100 % authentically.
The straw roof was put on the old roof, which was worn up to one third (left 8-10 cm). Straw was tied up with the birch wicker.
Interesting that a local staff has grown own straw in a traditional method. We have used those straw also and put some 25 sqm of straw roof.
